Advanced Lay Servant Course Go Preach! – You Can Preach!

Instructor: Rev. Dale Ashby

 

This course provides basic preaching skills and is the next step for those who want to preach and have recently completed the Basic Course. This is also an opportunity for those who do preach to refresh their preaching skills. This course counts as one Advanced Course in the Lay Servant Ministries curriculum.

This course helps participants understand spiritual gifts and how the church can use them to fulfill its mission and ministry. Participants will also learn what it means to be a spiritual leader and will be equipped to lead others in exploring and using their spiritual gifts.

Dancing with Words – Telling Stories

This course will help all church leaders, lay and clergy, to explore the history and importance of storytelling in faith development and to acquire basic storytelling skills.

Spiritual Disciplines in the Wesleyan Tradition

Wesley spoke of Spiritual Disciplines as "means of grace" by which the Holy Spirt may transform our hearts and lives.

This course offers a "sampler" of the classic Disciplines, including prayer, Bible study, meditation, solitude, and hospitality.
