Prayer Shawl Ministry

The Prayer Shawl Ministry at the Overlook United Methodist Church of Woodstock, NY is one of many ways we tend to the varied needs of our congregation and community. Our shawls are begun, worked and finished with prayer. Each shawl brings to the recipient the warmth, love and concern that, through prayer, have been absorbed into every stitch. Both women and men knit or crochet the shawls at home or at a gathering at church. Prayer shawls are made to give to people who hurt, those who are grieving, lonely, home bound or in physical need, within our church and beyond. Anyone may give a prayer shawl. Just call the church office (845-679-6800) to request or to learn more about this worthy project.

resurrection teams

Our Emergency Response Teams have been working hard ever since Hurricane Irene struck. As the initial clean up comes to an end there is an increasing need, in many areas, for construction projects that require skilled labor to take the lead in rebuilding and resurrecting the affected communities. Please help spread the word throughout our faith communities that these "Resurrection Teams" are being formed in the Catskill Hudson District. Employed or retired skilled professionals willing to volunteer a bit of their time and talents can make a huge difference in the lives of those unfortunate victims of this terrible disaster.

Trinity UMC - Food Pantry Last Saturday of the month from 10- 11 am,

Last Monday of the month 5-6 pm
Thrift Shop May thru October Thursdays 10-4 and Saturday 10-2.

Also open when food pantry is open year round.
Faith Builders Children's Christian education Wed. 7 pm (breaks for summer)
Youth Group meets 2nd and 4th Thursdays at 6:30 pm
